What We Collect
- Name, email address, and username when you sign up
- Profile photo if you choose to upload one
- Trip content including photos, titles, destinations, and place descriptions you share
- Place names detected from your photo GPS data (see below)
How We Use Photo Location Data
When you upload photos, Pearl can read GPS coordinates stored in your photo files to automatically detect where your photos were taken. This process happens on your device. We never store your raw GPS coordinates — only the place names you confirm, such as “Waikiki Beach”. You can edit or remove any detected location before publishing.
How Your Content Is Moderated
Photos and comments are reviewed by an AI system (Anthropic Claude) to ensure content is appropriate for all users before it is published. This is an automated process.
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. We take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We Never Sell Your Data
Pearl does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Cookies
Pearl uses cookies only to keep you logged in to your account. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
Your Rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. Upon deletion your profile, trips, and personal information will be permanently removed.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Pearl grows. We will notify users of significant changes.
